Firefighters from the Stratford Fire Department were dispatched to the Kubtec Medical Imaging Company on Research Drive on Sunday afternoon, where smoke could be seen billowing through the sky after a fire broke out inside.

Officials said that upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found “a large amount of fire” within the warehouse, and the building’s roof had already begun to collapse onto the floor below. Crews were able to contain the fire to the shipping and receiving section of the building, though the building sustained heavy damages.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Brian Lampart, the damage will keep the business from operating at that location until structural repairs can be made. The viability of the building will then be evaluated before it can be reopened.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing with the Stratford Fire Marshal and Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosive Investigation Unit. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
